Accurate, safe utility detection

Available in New South Wales. Coming soon to Queensland.

In 2024, H2flow Hire acquired Tasman Excavations and its established capability in vacuum excavation and associated services. H2flow Hire offers an experienced, skilled team of utility locators who can help you locate, trace and protect underground utilities on project sites, such as gas lines, electrical cables and water pipelines. We provide the visibility you need to deliver works around utilities with confidence, including adjacent excavation and other utility-impacting activities.

We use electromagnetic locating (EML) and ground penetrating radar (GPR) technologies to help our clients accurately detect and map the location of underground services, spanning both metallic and non-metallic utilities. The combination of these leading technologies, along with our expert technicians, provides trusted outcomes for utility detection and pre-excavation planning. This valuable assurance for project teams equips them to avoid services strikes and disruption, protect worker and public safety, and avoid the cost of downtime and rectification.

Cost savings

Our detection and mapping of underground utilities and structures is enabled by two technologies. The first is EML to accurately locate and mark metallic underground utilities. This delivers precise identification of the depth and direction of underground cables, safeguarding utilities from accidental damage during excavation, drilling and other construction works. The second is GPR, which uses high-frequency radar waves to detect metallic and non-metallic underground utilities and structures, providing a comprehensive view of subsurface features.

The radar technology maps the subsurface, enabling project teams to identify buried structures such as pipelines, foundations and underground tanks. The GPR data offers value for engineering design, construction method development, environmental controls and more.

Our team provides the expertise and experience needed to deliver services locating for various project types and contexts.

Our in-house excavation capability gives us detailed understanding of the demands of high-risk excavation work and the importance of accurate solutions.

Utility mapping and marking

We provide accurate on-site mapping and marking of located utilities, backed by clear documentation for project planning

One-call coordination

We manage coordination with asset owners, streamlining notifications and ensuring the proper location of underground services prior to work starting

Vacuum excavation verification

Using vacuum excavation, we safely expose utilities to visually verify locations, depths and types, reducing the risk of damage during works

As-built drawing verification

We compare existing as-built drawings against our locating results to find discrepancies and ensure the most accurate information is used during construction
