Weekly Watering at Sherwood Arboretum

Date published 4 September 2023

A bird’s eye view of the H2flow Hire team watering Sherwood Arboretum beside the Brisbane River. We started irrigating Sherwood Arboretum in 2019 on behalf of Brisbane City Council, and we have consistently maintained this weekly watering schedule ever since. Additionally, we apply Nuturfs Folimax Kelmax fertiliser to the newly planted vegetation every month.

Sherwood Arboretum is a significant component of the Brisbane Botanic Gardens collection. Its official inauguration took place on World Forestry Day, specifically on March 21, 1925, and this site has received heritage recognition due to its dedication to preserving Australian native trees. Encompassing an expansive 15-hectare area, Sherwood Arboretum boasts a remarkable assembly of approximately 1,100 trees, showcasing roughly 250 distinct species. The grounds feature a diverse range of botanical collections, including riverine, dry rainforest, dry sclerophyll, fig avenue, freshwater wetlands, and the most prominent attraction—a magnificent row of 72 kauri pines.
